Donald H. Hoerres Sept. 11, 1926 - Dec. 2, 2007
Donald served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a motor machinist mate in the South Pacific. He married Patricia Lange on Sept. 30, 1950, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Milwaukee. He was a police officer in Milwaukee and then retired in 1991 from Wisconsin Coach Lines after 18 years of service. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waxahachie, Texas, and had a lifelong love of trains and model railroading. Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Patricia Hoerres of Midlothian; children, Kathryn (Mike) Donahoe of Rowlett, Texas, Geralyn (Steve) Engelhardt of Paris, Texas, David Hoerres of Waukesha, Donna Clark of Milwaukee and Michael (Lynn) Hoerres of Bethlehem, Pa.; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sister, Joan (Norbie) Steger of Aurora, Colo.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack and Louise Lange of New Berlin; and 10 nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home, 511 W. Main St., Waxahachie, Texas, with a 6:30 p.m. Rosary service. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waxahachie, with the Rev. Michael Guadagnoli celebrating.
