NORTH PRAIRIE Ida M. Turner (nee
Hritz) Feb. 8, 1935 - July 9,
2008 Ida M. Turner (nee
Hritz) of North Prairie, died Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at Froedtert
Hospital at age 73. She was born in Lady Smith on Feb. 8, 1935, the
daughter of Theodore and Mary Barten. Ida has always been a
strong woman - a fighter to live life the best she could everyday. She
took care of her family, never wanting or expecting anything in return.
She did not ask for help, but showered you with appreciation when help was
given. She was happy to see her family happy and strong. She was teacher
of life lessons and perspectives, an understanding woman who helped you
learn from your mistakes. She took care of everyone as though they were
family and wanted everyone she knew to be happy and feel loved. Ida will be deeply
missed by her children, Penny (William) Tye of Florida, John (Peggy) Pugh
of Oconomowoc, Michael (Barbara Jean) Hritz of Sullivan, James (Barb)
Hritz of North Prairie and Tamy (Mark Grossmeier S.F.) Hritz of Mukwonago,
and her son-in-law, Dennis Smith. She was the loving grandmother of 24
grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was the dear sister of
Margie Hebard, Peter Barten, Delores Beaudin, Nita Hebard, Ted, Raymond,
Charlene, Charles, Ed, Gerry and Tom Barten, Kathy Williams and Ole Barten.
Ida is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in
death by first husband, Richard Hritz; her second husband, James Turner;
her daughter, Irene Smith; and a brother, Raymond Barten. Visitation will be
held from 6 p.m. until the 7 p.m. memorial service Monday, July 14, at
Grace Bible Church, 3991 Silver Lake Road, Oconomowoc, WI 53066. The Rev.
Michael Hendricks will be officiating. A second memorial service will be
held at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 19, on the Barten Farm in Ladysmith.
In lieu of flowers,
memorials are appreciated to the family for a portion to be later donated
to the North Prairie Fire and Rescue Department. “You will always be
