Brookfield tennis teams 2-3 in GMC
tournament
BROOKFIELD - The Milwaukee Marquette High School boys tennis team claimed a championship in six of seven flights and won the Greater Metro Conference Tournament at Brookfield East on Tuesday. Marquette scored 40 points, outdistancing second-place Brookfield Central by 12 points. Seniors Sam Bauwens and Cory Degner won a title at No. 1 doubles to lead Central, which scored 28 points. Sophomore Drew Lied placed second at No. 1 singles for Brookfield East, which placed third with 23 points. St. John's Northwestern baseball team loses MILWAUKEE - The St. John's Northwestern Military Academy baseball team lost to the University School of Milwaukee 14-9 in their Midwest Classic Conference game Tuesday. Junior left fielder Eric Lee went 2-for-5 with two RBIs while senior pitcher Carl Kuhn was 2-for-4 with with two RBIs for the Lancers, 7-6 overall and 5-6 in conference. LC Lutheran sweeps baseball doubleheader KENOSHA - The Lake Country Lutheran baseball team swept a doubleheader from Kenosha Life Christian 7-1 and 5-3 Tuesday. Senior pitcher Andrew Preisler pitched all five innings and allowed only one run off one hit in the first game. Preisler also stole four bases in the game. Senior center fielder Todd Whelan was 1-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs. Preisler played third base in the second game and was 3-for-3 with a double.
