Catholic Memorial boys volleyball team qualifies for sectional final

WAUKESHA - The Catholic Memorial High School boys volleyball team advanced to the Waukesha West sectional final by defeating Fort Atkinson 25-15, 25-19, 25-12 Tuesday.

Senior Tyler Cobb led the Crusaders with 30 assists and three ace serves, while sophomore Dan Casper had 19 digs and three aces. Senior Nick Lang and junior Chad Bonis each had eight kills, and junior Sam Spence had three blocks.

MEQUON - The Arrowhead boys volleyball team fell to Homestead 25-21, 17-25, 14-25, 23-25 in a WIAA sectional semifinal match Tuesday.

Nick Korom led the Warhawks with 23 assists, Riley Schoonover had 19 digs and Chris Cull had 11 kills.

Arrowhead finished the year at 13-14.

In other sectional semifinal matches involving Waukesha County schools:

Marquette defeated Wauk-esha North 25-7, 25-5, 25-11; Middleton beat Mukwonago 25-10, 25-10, 25-12; Wau-watosa East beat Brookfield East 25-16, 25-15, 25-19; and the New Berlin co-op team, beat Muskego 25-18, 25-13, 25-22.

Individual statistics were not reported and phone calls to coaches were not immediately returned.
