County volleyball players receive all-state
honors
Ten Waukesha County high school girls volleyball players were recently named to the Wisconsin Volleyball Coaches all-state team. Senior libero Tricia Foldy from Muskego received first-team honors to head the list. Sophomore libero Patti Abshire and sophomore outside hitter Kate Acker from Catholic Memorial joined Muskego's senior outside hitter Rachel Glisch and junior middle hitter Rachel Neuberger on the second team. Waukesha West junior setter Jamie Mueller earned a third-team berth. Junior middle blocker Janelle Hobbs from Arrowhead, junior outside hitter Ashley Applequist from Waukesha West, junior outside hitter Katie Ellerson from Muskego, Menomonee Falls junior outside hitter Catie Fredrich and Falls senior middle blocker Mollie Moesch each received honorable mention. Seven county volleyball players on all-GMC team named to GMC team Seven Waukesha County high school girls volleyball players recently were named to the Greater Metro Conference all-league team. Menomonee Falls junior Catie Fredrich was named the GMC Player of the Year. Falls senior Mollie Moesch also received first-team honors, with sophomore Becca Fuchs earning a second-team berth for the Indians. Hamilton junior Stephanie Kirchner was named to the first team with junior Alaina DiGiorgio-Verdin taking second-team honors. Brookfield East senior Lane Konkel and Brookfield Central junior Maria Fotsch also were named to the second team.
