Pewaukee, Eisenhower football teams romp
MILWAUKEE - Senior running back A.J. Coley rushed for 103 yards with three touchdowns and Pewaukee went on to beat Nicolet 55-21 in nonconference game Friday. The Pirates rushed for 406 yards compared to just 49 for the Knights. Senior running back Kenny Mischker added 148 yards off 23 carriers and one touchdown. Sophomore running back Derek Watt ran for 102 yard off eight carries, which included a 46-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Junior quarterback Patrick Bacon passed for 97 yards and two touchdowns. The Pirates outgained the Knights in total yardage 503-316. ¥ ¥ ¥ NEW BERLIN - Junior running back Ian McKechnie scored three touchdowns for New Berlin Eisenhower as the Lions cruised to a 74-28 victory over Wauwatosa West in a Woodland Conference opener Friday. Two of those scores were on kick returns: a 45-yard punt return and a 90-yard kickoff return. He also had an 8-yard TD run. The Lions were ahead 41-7 after just one quarter, and led 61-21 at halftime. Senior quarterback Niko Koshak completed all six of his passes for 103 yards and two touchdowns. Tyler Favor rushed for 88 yards on 11 carries and scored a touchdown. The Lions (1-1 overall) forced 10 fumbles by Tosa West and recovered four of them. ¥ ¥ ¥ PORT WASHINGTON - Junior Xavier Whitaker rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries and Brookfield Central scored all its points in the first half in slipping past Port Washington 13-10 in a nonconference game. The Lancers, 2-0, won their season opener last week by a single point 7-6. Senior Tommy Braaten scored the Lancers' other touchdown on a 3-yard run in the second quarter to break a 7-7 tie. Both teams had just 150 total yards. The only touchdown allowed by Central was on a fumble recovery in the end zone by Justyn Krueger in the second quarter. ¥ ¥ ¥ CEDARBURG - Zak Suhar kicked a pair of 33-yard field goals and Logan Lauters scored a touchdown on a 56-yard run as Cedarburg blanked Menomonee Falls 20-0 in a nonconference game. The best scoring chance for the Indians came in the final quarter but a fumble ended a drive at the 2-yard line. Junior Cole Myrha led the Indians with 49 yard rushing on 14 carries. ¥ ¥ ¥ MUSKEGO - Racine Horlick quarterback Steve Morris was 20-for-28 for 202 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for another 101 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries to lead the Rebels to a 39-8 Southeast Conference victory over Muskego on Friday. Kellen Miller caught six of Morris' passes for 53 yards and a touchdown, and he also returned a kickoff 94 yards for another score. Senior Alex Roy led the Warriors, 1-1 in league, with 106 yards rushing on 23 carries, while senior Paul Latour added 31 yards and a touchdown on seven carries. Muskego led 8-7 in the second quarter but the Rebels stormed back with 20 points in the quarter for a 27-8 halftime lead. ¥ ¥ ¥ TOWN OF LISBON - Stevens Point came through at two crucial times to beat Hamilton 14-13 in a nonconference game Friday. Point erased a 7-0 deficit with an 80-yard run on a third-and-10 play, then did away with a 13-7 deficit with a 14-yard touchdown play on fourth-and-10 with 4:20 remaining in the game. Hamilton scored first on a 46-yard run by senior running back Kenny Zarske. After that, all the Hamilton scoring came from junior kicker Nate Vannarom, who kicked an extra point and field goals of 22 and 32 yards. After Point scored its second touchdown, an interception with 1:15 left in the game ended Hamilton's final drive. Senior quarterback Justin Rupnow ran 15 times for 150 yards, and Zarske carried 18 times for 127 yards for Hamilton, now 1-1. ¥ ¥ ¥ GARY, Ind. - Arrowhead has opened its season with a 2-0 record after it blasted Lew Wallace 55-0 on Friday. (Statistics not available.) ¥ ¥ ¥ PALMYRA - Senior Leo Rausch rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries and caught three passes for another 59 yards and another touchdown to lead Palmyra-Eagle to a 33-24 nonconference victory over Milwaukee Marshall on Friday. Senior quarterback Chris McMillan completed 4 of 8 passes for 66 yards and two touchdowns and junior Taylor Dane added 111 yards rushing on 15 attempts as the Panthers bounced back from a season-opening loss to McFarland to improve their record to 1-1 overall.
